Really glad you are back. No one else is providing in depth details about the water crisis. I live in the far west valley. Home builders are going crazy out here. There are thousands of new homes built or being built. I don’t see how that is sustainable. When will our legislature stop ignoring this critical issue.
Glad to have the Water Agenda back. The water news just keeps coming. Unbelievable that we haven't seen state legislation on the alfalfa farming, it feels like an easy, bipartisan win. The whole country is looking at AZ and wondering....what are you doing? I wonder if it's the overall resistance to rural groundwater management with pressure from Rep. Griffin OR if it was abandoned so that each side could point fingers? Gov. Hobbs at the legislature and vice versa.
If we, the Colorado River Basin States, don't come up with a plan...somebody we don't like will. Decisions need to be made. Buschatzke is right to editorialize our problems wherever he can get a podium. Another (already predicted) dry, warm, winter and we will be out of options. Homebuilders will have to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, agriculture is next on the list. So...if Wyoming wants winter veggies...give AZ & the Imperial Valley enough to grow some. Also...it is time to stop arguing about building a desal network that can replenish Lake Powell and Navajo Reservoir. Like the Nike ads say...just do it. That takes care of the lower States. So what if it's expensive? We don't have a choice.

Allocating water based on flow of the river supply rather than a contract or what the demand is seems so simple.
